About This Session:

I loved photographing this in-home lifestyle newborn session. The parents were already such devoted parents to their dogs Dunkin andDonut. Getting to see not only how the dogs reacted to their new little brother but how mom and dad's love only grows exponentially when adding a new human to their little wolf pack was such a privilege. A new baby goes from just a hope and a prayer to a tiny human who rocks your world with that swirl of hair on their head and the itty bitty toes that tap their way from just under your heart to the hallways of your home. I love capturing the little details and the way mom and dad gaze so lovingly at baby and how they fit in so sweetly on their chest or in their arms. Newborn photography is my passion because each session takes me back to that magical feeling I felt when staring at my first child asa newborn. This session hit home especially because I remember watching my own pup become a “big puppy sibling” and fretting over how the dog would adjust. Just as it did with me, these pups did so amazingly well with their new baby brother and their family.

About This Session:

This was my first session back after quarantine. I typically have clients meet me at my studio where they pick out clothing before going to the session location. Instead, I had dropped off a laundry basket of clothing options on their doorstep a couple days before. It was odd to meet a client for the first time and not shake their hand and to have my face covered so they couldn't see me smile. I was worried about what it would be like to direct them without coming near them and wondered if they would be able to hear me behind the muffle of my mask. Mostly I was worried, can I still do this under these new restrictions? Can I keep my clients safe and provide them with the kind of service I want to?

The short answer? Yes. It was an absolutely lovely session. We had lots of laughs and smiles. We enjoyed the flowers and the views. And most of all we enjoyed seeing other people! Being in the presence of others and celebrating this new life thats coming soon.

About This Session:

I wanted to capture a family during the quarantine in a way that looks how the quarantine has felt. Closed off, inside, looking through the windows, so close but not touching. Shooting through the window was more difficult than I thought it would be, but I love how it turns the images into a slightly hazy dream. I’ve tended to focus more on mom in these sessions. I wanted to document how it has felt to be a mother at home with her children during this time. Sometimes overwhelming, sometimes fun, but always constant and strong.
