About This Session:

We photographed Lauren + Fran's wedding back in 2015. Fast forward five years, a puppy and 2 babies later. I was so excited that it worked out to photograph Lauren and Fran's brand new baby girl when we were visiting Buffalo for a few weeks this summer. Behind the scenes, this session was a little crazy with 2 under two. We found humor in the chaos (and someone's ticklish spot) and this sweet family's laid back disposition is really what shined through in the photos. What inspired me about this session is really just watching this young couple evolve into such a beautiful and loving family.

September 17th - A Garden Picnic Session in Finland

About This Session:

Before our family shoot, the trees had already dropped their beautiful white flowers during that week. During the apple tree blooming season, the garden is usually full of people, just admiring and taking photos of all the beauty dozens of apple trees create.

I think we were actually lucky since the garden was practically empty during our shoot and we got the most magical evening light.

I loved how relaxed the family was and the kids barely noticed that I was there. This family are dear friends of mine and I wanted to capture some sweet memories for them. They are so sweet, caring and heart-warming, that it wasn't a challenge to capture all of that, all of who they are, on camera.

There wasn't a shortage of running, dancing, and exploring the garden, but I think it's super important to let the kids be kids during a shoot because then you can really capture their true personality and the connection within the family.

About This Session:

This morning maternity session was a sweet time spent with this family of three, soon to be four. Katie (mother) wanted to capture this season with the three of them before their baby arrives later this summer. I really wanted to focus on their oldest and the interactions between them as they await baby boy.

September 3 - A Chicago Motherhood Session

About This Session:

What a beautiful summer evening it was here in Chicago. I met my former college roommate and dear friend (and also fellow photographer) to photograph her in all her beauty as a mother to a 3 year old and soon to be second baby girl. We laughed, played, ran in the grass barefoot, danced, and chased the setting sun. I learned of the name she had chosen for her baby girl, as the names were engraved on her dainty gold bracelets. Gia and Georgia. So precious. It truly felt like a slow motion memory together, to connect as friends, artists, and mothers. Little did we know, she would have contractions on her drive home and deliver her baby 12 hours later. She texted me the next morning and said, I had baby Georgia this morning, and I am truly so grateful that you photographed my last hours with just Gia and me, and my last pregnancy. I will forever remember and cherish these memories. This is why I do what I do. To document the here and now. The fleeting moments that we want to have with us forever.

I am passionate about documenting the here and now. The "just as you are." I always tell my clients to not wait for the perfect timing, because tomorrow may look different. I strive to capture authentic interactions between loved ones, so that they can get a glimpse of the unique beauty of their family.
