About This Session:
For this session I wanted to focus on mom’s individual connection with her children. I chose this specific mother for a few reasons. 1. Her baby boy has had stomach issues, which means he has slept even more poorly than the average newborn while also being more fussy during his waking hours. This mother has made significant sacrifices in her diet to try and provide relief to him. 2. She’s a stay at home mom. As the primary caregiver to my own children, I know how challenging it can be to find beauty in the “everyday” when you spend so much time in the thick of it. 3. She stated to me that she regretted not having many images of herself with her daughter when her daughter was a newborn due to self consciousness of her body’s changes. I wanted to show her that the work she puts in to raise her children matters, even when it doesn’t feel like it, and that the love she emanates from being a mother enhances her already stunning beauty.
