September 3, 2020 - A Chicago Motherhood Session

About This Session:

What a beautiful summer evening it was here in Chicago. I met my former college roommate and dear friend (and also fellow photographer) to photograph her in all her beauty as a mother to a 3 year old and soon to be second baby girl. We laughed, played, ran in the grass barefoot, danced, and chased the setting sun. I learned of the name she had chosen for her baby girl, as the names were engraved on her dainty gold bracelets. Gia and Georgia. So precious. It truly felt like a slow motion memory together, to connect as friends, artists, and mothers. Little did we know, she would have contractions on her drive home and deliver her baby 12 hours later. She texted me the next morning and said, I had baby Georgia this morning, and I am truly so grateful that you photographed my last hours with just Gia and me, and my last pregnancy. I will forever remember and cherish these memories. This is why I do what I do. To document the here and now. The fleeting moments that we want to have with us forever.

I am passionate about documenting the here and now. The "just as you are." I always tell my clients to not wait for the perfect timing, because tomorrow may look different. I strive to capture authentic interactions between loved ones, so that they can get a glimpse of the unique beauty of their family.
