About the Session:
I absolutely loved working with this family and the images just make me feel so. many. positive. feelings and I would love to share that with others! This session was captured in Arches National Park, near Moab, Utah, by the magical Turret's Arch. These images were taken for a beautiful young family to celebrate their newborn son.
We gathered an hour before sunset and had almost the entire section of the park to ourselves. The brand-new parents were a bit nervous about their session (it was their first time having photos taken together!) Before the session I offered as much support as possible, we went over a mood board of outfit ideas for them to purchase on their own; with the rusty color of sandstone, we opted for complimentary low-contrast yellow and blues and something neutral for their baby.
During the session, I gave them quite a bit of directions and prompts that felt natural, and we built trust and connection pretty quickly. Over the years, I learned how to match the energy of my families in a way that puts them at ease. I gave them direction as needed but also held space for them to just enjoy this beautiful place... and each other. The light was stunning and we lingered into the blue hour which is one of the most magical moments in Arches. We were all giddy and excited and we all felt like we created something really beautiful together that day :)
